This is the painting that started my aboriginal series this past spring. I was artistically "stuck" and with some coaching from Mary Vernon, my art instructor at SMU, I was able to translate on canvas this passion I have for Aboriginal art. There are about 15 pieces in this series and they will be in the October show benefiting the Wilson Foundation.

free bird

I discovered collage artist, Lance Letscher this year and went to three of his shows in New York, Dallas and Austin. His work is amazing and even though this doesn't look anything like his collages, he inspired this piece which was auctioned at the Gordie Foundation's fund raising event this past June. I think collage is something I will enjoy doing more of in the future.

I named this piece after my Aunt Martha who is the most amazing gardener and of course, president of her garden club in Houston. "Martha's Garden" will be in my next show October 8 and 9 in Dallas at 2715 Fairmount benefiting
